I'm a system administrator and programmer by trade and I run
cynistar.net and austinimprov.com as a hobby, both to
support my friends and to get a little experience with all facets of running a
tiny domain. Behind that, I have a private network with three (up to ten machines)
running, only two of which run any form of Microsoft Windows (98 and XP.)
Everything else is Ubuntu linux, converted from SuSE in the summer of 2006. My wife has an OS/X laptop which I don't touch. She doesn't need support now (compared with her accursed Dell) so I let sleeping dogs lie.
In my free time I study and perform improvisational comedy with
Improv for Evil
at The Hideout
and Coldtowne Theater.
I started out playing with
We Could Be
HeroesThe Heroes of
Comedy.
We're not precisely Whose Line Is It Anyway?; we do both narrative
(plot-driven) and thematic improv, so in and among the traditional goofiness,
occasionally real drama breaks out. It's all disposable theatre so relax and
sit back with a bucket of popcorn and take in the spectacle knowing this is the
first and last time it will ever be performed. It's fun to watch and even more
fun to play. Sometimes I write about
it.
